In 2003, the UCCA led the campaign to strip Duranty of his Pulitzer Prize. Although this effort did not succeed, the efforts generated a great deal of media. Information about the Holodomor was widely distributed. Below is an example from the postcard campaign: Stop the Whitewash - Acknowledge Your Role - Apologize - Do the RIGHT THING!
To join the UCCA's efforts, contact Mr. Arthur Sulzberger, Jr. Chairman & Publisher of The New York Times: Mr. Arthur Sulzberger, Jr. Chairman & Publisher The New York Times 229 West 43rd Street New York, NY 10036 click below to email:

Sample Text: Dear Mr. Sulzberger, While writing in The New York Times, Walter Duranty helped cover up the genocidal Famine, the Holodomor, of 1932 - 1933 in Soviet Ukraine. He lied for the Soviets before, during and after 1932 - 1933. Stalin's apologist did not merit a Pulitzer Prize. Keeping Duranty's prize befouls The New York Times. Do the right thing. Return it to the Pulitzer Committee. |
