Ukrainian Days 2010
For several years, the Ukrainian National Information Service (UNIS), the Washington public-affairs bureau of the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America (UCCA), has sponsored “Ukrainian Days” advocacy events in Washington, D.C. During the two-day event, the Ukrainian community has an opportunity to meet with government agencies and non-governmental organizations (NGO’s) involved in formulating and monitoring U.S. policy toward Ukraine, as well as interacting with Members of Congress to discuss our issues and concerns.
This year’s “Ukrainian Days” in Washington was held on Wednesday and Thursday, March 17th and 18th. This year’s program was essentially critical considering the implementation of the U.S.-Ukraine Strategic Partnership Commission, and, of course, the recent presidential elections in Ukraine. Having to overcome the notion of “Ukraine-fatigue”, “Ukrainian Days” participants conveyed to Members of Congress the vital importance of maintaining and enhancing the bilateral relations between Ukraine and the United States.
Briefing papers on the various topics were supplied to all the participants of “Ukrainian Days” by the Ukrainian National Information Service (UNIS). Copies of these briefing papers, in PDF format, can be found on your right.
A detailed review of the entire “Ukrainian Days” program can be found under the Press Release section of this website.
