New York, NY (UCCA) – On February 15, 2017, a full-day conference will bring together over two dozen leading voices in National Security, Diplomacy and Government Affairs from the United States, Ukraine and Europe to discuss the damage done to European security and international law by Russia’s continued attacks on Ukraine, as well as what advancements have been made in the diplomatic, political, informational, economic and military spheres to bolster Ukraine from future attacks. The event, entitled Securing Ukraine’s Sovereignty: The Road Ahead, will gather at the US Library of Congress (101 Independence Ave SE) and feature four panel discussions, as well as addresses by numerous Congressional and government officials, and a featured highlight presentation on pressing questions for the new administration on Ukrainian security. The conference will be preceded by a special evening reception at the Embassy of Ukraine in the United States on February 14, with Ukraine’s Foreign Minister in attendance.

Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity has been under near-constant assault from military, economic, cyber and information warfare – or hybrid war - by Vladimir Putin’s Russia since 2014. With a new administration looking to take a fresh approach to foreign policy, this conference will provide much needed context for decisions to be made in the coming years.

Confirmed speakers: Anders Aslund, Stephen Blank, Congressman Brendan Boyle (D-PA), Janusz Bugajski, Ambassador Valeriy Chaly, Ariel Cohen, Luke Coffey, William Courtney, John Falk, Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA), John Herbst, Glen Howard, Philip Karber, Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin, Andrij Levus, Oleksandr Lytvynenko, Anatoly Matios, William Miller, Herman Pirchner, Roman Popadiuk, Vlad Socor, James Sherr, William Taylor, Serhi Vysostsky.
