The Holocaust (Голокост) — Shoah (שואה ) — remains one of the most abhorrent crimes in history. Six million Jews, 1.5 million of whom were children, as well as millions of members of other nationalities, minorities and vulnerable groups, were killed in German Nazi concentration and extermination camps.

The Ukrainian Congress Committee of America (UCCA), the representative organization of nearly 2 million Americans of Ukrainian descent, honors and solemnly remembers the dignity and memory of the millions of innocent Jewish lives persecuted and murdered by Nazi Germany during the Holocaust.

UCCA invites our members and friends to join the Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the United Nations on Friday, January 28, 2022, to commemorate International Holocaust Remembrance Day with a special online webinar, along with representatives of the State of Israel, as well as Ukrainian and Jewish American community leaders.

Earlier today, Reps. Marcy Kaptur, D-Ohio, Brian Fitzpatrick, R-Penn., Mike Quigley, D-Ill., and Andy Harris, R-Md., co-chairs of the bipartisan Congressional Ukraine Caucus, issued this joint Op-Ed to USA Today. In it they called for

“the free world to rise up together. Let the United Nations and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe rally the global coalition that is needed to defend Ukrainian sovereignty and independence, and preserve European stability for generations to come.”
