Help Support UCCA’s #SupportUkraine Humanitarian Effort

The Ukrainian Congress Committee of America would like to thank all our individual donors and corporate sponsors for their generous support!

Thanks to your continued donations - nearly 2 million US dollars submitted via UCCA’s MightyCause platform, direct bank deposits, donations and charity events - UCCA has already disbursed nearly 1.5 million dollars, as our Ukrainian American community's vital humanitarian aid efforts continue.

In addition to the financial contributions, UCCA has received and distributed the following in-kind assistance for Ukrainians totaling over 1.6 million dollars:

• 17,000lbs of medical supplies

• 1,800 L.L.Bean Sleeping bags

• 24 pallets of Orthotic donations

• 111 pallets of medical supplies

Please know that every penny donated to this Fundraiser will go directly to our humanitarian aid effort - NO money is being diverted at the top or dedicated for administrative overhead.

At present, the US government has yet to officially publish in the Federal Register TPS status for Ukrainian Nationals in the United States.

TPS status enables recipients to work in the United States lawfully and protects them from deportation as long as the TPS designation is in effect. We await further news from the Department of Homeland Security, who announced this decision was forthcoming back on March 3.

Following the White House announcement on March 24 that the United States would welcome up to 100,000 Ukrainians, no plan has yet been announced to expedite non-immigrant visas.

We await further news on this issue following multiple requests from Congress on our community’s behalf.

The first in-person #SupportUkraine! “Ukraine Washington Days” advocacy event since the pandemic began will be held on Thursday and Friday, June 9-10, 2022 in Washington, DC. The June 9-10th advocacy event will be used as an opportunity to meet in-person once again with Members of Congress and acquaint them with our concerns for increased security assistance for Ukraine, continued strong sanctions against Ukraine’s enemies, and support for humanitarian programs to aid Ukrainians afflicted by the war.

Please note, on Saturday, June 11, 2022, the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America (UCCA) will also sponsor a one-day symposium in Washington, DC on the Ukraine war efforts to review the community’s humanitarian assistance programs, as well as to discuss measures of additional support for Ukraine. Details will be forthcoming.
