Oh Lord our God,

When the Amalekites came up against the Israelites at Rephidim,

You listened to Moses as he held out his hands to you,

and the warrior Yehoshua was strengthened,

leading the people of Israel to victory.

Today, Lord, the people of Ukraine raise their hands to You.

Strengthen our pious defenders with Your strength,

send Thy angel to aid in victory over our enemies,

and deliver us from evil.

We pray to You, oh Lord our God, have mercy on us.

NEW UCCA LOCAL BRANCH ESTABLISHED IN CHARLOTTE, NC

For the purpose of establishing a Local Branch of UCCA, a Principle Founding Meeting was held on April 7, 2022, in Charlotte, NC. In accordance with UCCA’s Bylaws, an Establishment Committee consisting of 13 annual contributors to UCCA’s Ukrainian National Fund (UNF) met under presiding chair Volodymyr Cihovsky, deputy chair Andriy Hrycay and meeting secretary Iryna Turner.

After discussing the obligations listed within UCCA’s bylaws, and that of representing UCCA in their given territory, the meeting participants voted unanimously to establish a UCCA Local Branch “for the benefit of the Ukrainian American community and Ukraine.”

The following officers were elected to serve on the Local Branch’s Executive Council: Chair - Andriy Hrycay; Vice-Chairs - Serhiy Mysyk and Volodymyr Cihovsky; Secretaries - Iryna Turner and Diana Ostafiychuk; Treasurer - Tatiana Mayor.

As Chair of UCCA’s Local Branch in Charlotte, NC, Volodymyr Cihovsky will also serve as a delegate to UCCA’s National Council, the highest ruling body of the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America.
